Project Description

Since 2003 the Zambrano Foundation has run the “See To Learn” project, aimed at schools with a high proportion of children with basic unfulfilled needs. The Project is based on the belief that a child who cannot see well is a child who cannot learn well.

General Objective of the Project

To avoid visual problems that will impede the growth and development of children and adolescents.

Methodology

The Project begins with an eye test for every pupil attending the participating school. This is carried out in two stages: the first, performed by the teachers, consists of a very basic eye test; the second, performed by our ophthalmologists, consists of a closer examination of the children who have not met the requirements of the first basic test. The Project also includes the provision of glasses for those who need them. The Foundation is also committed to the follow-up treatment of children who are suffering from more serious visual problems.
